Shattered Lands

Canyons and crevasses cover the land.  The wind carries toxic silt as well as more ordinary sand.  The environmental sins of the past continue to damage the land, on top of the new ones still being performed by earthbreakers of today.  Will you stop them and let the land begin to heal, or will you break the land further for your own power?

This is the Shattered Lands, a third-party supplement for Worlds Without Number or other OSR games.  The Shattered Lands can be used as a setting on its own, dropped as a region into a larger setting, or used to reflect an alternate dimension or other reality. 

The Shattered Lands region contains all of the following exciting places and things, and more:

• Four city-states
• Grassland nomads
• Poison swamps
• Magma-powered smelters
• Deadly deserts and deep canyons

In addition to the setting itself, we have content related to the setting.  The new classes and spells are designed for Worlds Without Number, but can be converted to or used in other OSR games with varying effort depending on your target game. 

Three new partial classes are included; the Warlord, the Crusader, and the Earthbreaker.  In addition, a new full class is included, the Element Caller.  The Warlord is a combat leader, the Crusader is a focused divine warrior, and the Earthbreaker is a spellcaster who destroys the land for power.  The Element Caller is a spellcaster who, instead of Effort, balances their Tranquility and Wrath to power their abilities and spells.

In addition, three new subsystems are included; like the classes, these are written with Worlds Without Number in mind, but can be used in any OSR game with minor tweaks.  (The subsystems are easier to port over than the classes, being the nature of subsystems.)  Titled Characters allows for your character to pass on a little bit of their power after their death to the inheritor of their Title within the adventuring company.  Wilderness Stocking uses a system of terrain encounters to spice up your travel through the wilderness without adjusting the rate of combat encounters.  Finally, Ritual Spellcasting allows characters (or villains) to cast world-altering Conanesque sorcerous rituals.
