This game is the RPG equivalent of peeps and M&M chili.

If that sounds interesting, first, what is wrong with you.  Second, awesome, you may want to keep reading, it's probably the same thing wrong with me.

Flames of the Meta-Dragon is a meta-layer TTRPG wrapper that provides a universal conversion and resolution system which can be used to resolve the interactions of characters with a shared world, without those characters necessarily needing to share any rules or mechanics with each other.  In fact, if you want to, those characters can be from entirely different game systems and with an index card worth of conversion notes, you can bring them in and it will still all work.

Some classes included in Flames of the Meta-Dragon are Fighter, Wizard, and Rogue.  These classes do not share their mechanics with each other; each of them have radically different gameplay styles.  This isn't the weird part.  The other classes are Werewolf, Enigmaballer, and Hobb.  Ever wanted to make up your rules as you go along? That's what an Enigmaballer does.

There is no guarantee or need that a character or class follow standard RPG tropes or expectations.  Fighters have hit points like you might expect, but werewolves just get mad if you hit them with a sword, and their Rage is what powers their damage output.  Hobbs can't be hurt as long as they still have Hope and a rogue can only be taken down if you catch them out of Position.  Wizards can't make skill checks; that's what they have magic for.  And if you feel like playing a cybernetic assassin from another game system, that's fine, throw it in there; it'll just take you an index card worth of notes.

The GM never needs to know how player characters work; the system is designed to allow PCs to be a black box to both the system and the GM.  The GM tells the PCs what they need (for example, "You take 2 Injury" or "Make an Absurd Check".)  The PCs will follow their own rules for these core mechanics and tell the GM the answer.  For example, a werewolf who takes 2 Injury gains 2 Rage.  A rogue who needs to make an Absurd check will probably spend some Position to increase their chance of success.  This also helps support the use of characters from other systems; you might have five characters from five different systems, and the GM doesn't need to know or understand a single one of them, just the one page of core rules from Flames of the Meta-Dragon.

Go forth, and be seared by the Meta-Dragon!
